Alex Winter is a 2019 Mexican psychological thriller directed by César Demian in which Alex, a lonely and mentally unstable teenager abandoned by his father, lives in a remote countryside house with his mother Violeta — a controlling, authoritarian woman with whom he shares a deeply dysfunctional relationship charged with confrontations, violence, and unmistakable sexual tension. As Alex's grip on reality worsens through drug use and hallucinations, the suffocating closeness between mother and son crosses into disturbing sexual territory, while Alex simultaneously spirals into rage against both his inner demons and his mother's lover.
