A Teacher is a 2013 American drama directed by Hannah Fidell in which Diana Watts, a thirtyish high school English teacher in Austin, Texas, is quietly falling apart — estranged from her family, isolated, and searching for something she cannot name. She finds it in Eric Tull, one of her teenage students, and the two begin a secret sexual affair that becomes the most emotionally fulfilling relationship Diana has ever had.
